The OPACplus contains, besides the "Katalog der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek" (catalogue of the BSB) also the "Bayerischer Verbundkatalog", the union catalogue of all participating Bavarian libraries, as well as the research service "Aufsätze & mehr" (Articles & more).
  • By default setting, the search takes place in the "BSB catalogue" and "Articles & more".
  • For all orders and for the unrestricted use of "Aufsätze & mehr" a reader pass is required, which can be requested at the  registration office only in person.
Catalogue of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (BSB catalogue)
The catalogue of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek contains over 10 million media. The entries encompass books, periodicals and newspapers, among other things also maps, printed sheet music, manuscripts or electronic materials, such as e-books, e-journals or databases.
Please note that the BSB catalogue does not provide the option to search for authors or titles of articles. These are displayed under "Aufsätze & mehr" and can be retrieved in the relevant (subject) databases in the  Database Information System.

Bavarian Union Catalogue
The "Bayerischer Verbundkatalog" (Bavarian Union Catalogue) contains over 23 million title entries and 48 million ownership entries from more than 150 libraries.
By clicking on Database selection the search can be extended to also cover the Bavarian Union Catalogue. This catalogue offers the option to order items from other Bavarian libraries by online interlibrary loan. For further information about the procedure please also read the section about  online interlibrary loan (in German).

Aufsätze & mehr – Articles & More
The contents of numerous databases, e-journals and e-book portals have now been incorporated in a comprehensive index – containing entries for more than 250 million media items of all kinds – and can be queried comprehensively using "Aufsätze & mehr".
Among these media there are i.a. the electronic journals of the big academic publishing houses such as Springer, Elsevier, JSTOR, Wiley, Emerald, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Central and Eastern European Online Library, or e-books from platforms such as e.g. ACLS Humanities E-Books, ebrary, Eighteenth Century Collections Online, Oxford Scholarship Online, Karger Books, PsycBooks, as well as subject databases such as e.g. Web of Science, MLA International Bibliography or L’Année Philologique, or reference works such as e.g. American National Biography Online and Britannica.
Numerous open-access services, from Wikipedia, to Project Gutenberg, Library of Congress Selected Digitized Books, Manuscriptorium or Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), up to contents from more special collections such as David Rumsey Historical Maps or Hong Kong Institutional Repositories, and much more, are also encompassed.
Besides the option to search for articles and partly also for book chapters, some contents are also searchable as full texts.
The documents themselves can be provided comfortably and fast in most cases, through direct access to the electronic full texts of both freely accessible services and the electronic journals and books for which the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek holds licenses.
In the event that hits are not available in a digital version, usually a link is provided to the printed collections or copies can be ordered optionally.
