Use of the WLAN and Internet

Internet access in general

The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek provides free-of-charge Internet access on its premises for academic purposes. Various WLAN access options can be chosen among in all of the reading rooms, in the learning and working area "Plaza” and in the cafeteria.

In addition, PC workstations with Internet access are available in the reading rooms. Please note that Internet access at these devices is possible only on condition that you are a registered user of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and hold corresponding access identification data (BSB ID or LMUcard ID). Students who have not yet reached legal age are unfortunately barred from access for legal reasons.
There are a small number of databases (e.g. the law portal "juris" or "RIPM Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals") to which access is possible only at these Internet PCs and with your BSB access identification.
