How to find us

A. Public transportation by train

Take the S8 or S1 train (S8: direction "Herrsching", S1: direction "Neufahrn" or "Ostbahnhof München") and disembark at the station "Marienplatz". There you can change to Underground Line U3 (direction "Moosach") or U6 (direction "Garching-Forschungszentrum"). Exit the Underground at stop "Universität" (2 minutes).

B. Lufthansa Airport Bus

This shuttle is not restricted to Lufthansa customers.

There are only two bus stops of this shuttle in Munich city: "Munich North/ Schwabing Nord" and "Munich Center/ München Zentrum". You can leave the bus at "Munich North". There you can change to Underground Line U6 (direction "Klinikum Großhadern"). Exit the Underground at stop "Universität" (6 minutes).

Please note that you need an additional ticket for the Underground Line.

C. Taxi

Cabs can be found at several locations of the airport.

You will need 45 - 60 minutes to reach the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek regardless of the chosen option.

Take Underground Line U4 (direction "Arabellapark") or U5 (direction "Neuperlach Süd"). Exit the Underground at stop "Odeonsplatz" (3 minutes). Follow the Ludwigstrasse northward for about 500 m. You reach the Bavarian State Library on the right.
