Count Franz von Pocci (1807 – 1876) was not only a court official and court poet, but also an untiring draughtsman and watercolourist. As a member of the gentlemen’s club "Old England", he created caricatures of the club members, among which there were high-ranking aristocrats and commoners. The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek has expanded its considerable collection of Pocciana by the so-called "Anglia Albums".

On 1 July 2022, Dr. Sascha Salatowsky assumed the office of Director of the regional State Library of Coburg as the successor of Dr. Silvia Pfister, who had been in this office since 2002.

With "Art between Covers", the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek founded a blog specifically dedicated to artists’ books in 2019. It is available as a communication tool not only to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek itself, but also to other collecting institutions.
