The Institute of Conservation (IBR) is an actively contributing member of national and international specialist bodies, such as the expert advisory board "Management of Fire Damage" at the Herzogin Anna Amalia Library in Weimar, the Technical Committee 346 "Conservation of Cultural Heritage" at the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) and its counterpart at the German Institute for Standardisation (Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V.; DIN), the standards committee NABau 005-01-36 AA "Conservation of the cultural heritage", the Technical Committee 46 "Requirements for document storage and conditions for preservation" of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the standards committee Information and Documentation NID 009-00-14 AA "Conservation at archives and libraries" of the DIN.
