About the conference
From the manuscript of the Song of the Nibelungs to the Golden Bull – in the stacks of archives and libraries, numerous (little-) known items are safeguarded which bear testimony to history and culture. These holdings are an enrichment for many historical exhibitions. Accordingly, museums cooperate with archives and libraries. The Autumn Academy is dedicated to various aspects of this cooperation, such as the preparatory research of objects, the loan procedure or conservational requirements. Using the example of exhibitions at schools, the Autumn Academy also focuses on the cooperation with schools.
A central topic of the conference is the presentation and conveyance of the mostly one-dimensional objects from libraries and archives. What concepts does museum education have in store for setting the scene for “flatware”? How can a vibrant setting be provided audiovisually and using state-of-the art technology for exhibits such as deeds, files or photographs? The Autumn Academy discusses the possibilities of active cooperation between museums, archives and libraries.
Target groups: Employees and associates of museums, archives and libraries, employees and associates in arts and cultural education, teachers of all types of schools, students, certification course
