About the event

Adalbert Stifter, who died in Linz in 1868 as a retired school inspector, is counted among the outstanding writers of the 19th century.

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his death, the Adalbert Stifter Association extends a cordial invitation to an event in commemoration of the author and his works, organized with the kind support of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek:
Werner Fritsch (Hendlmühle/ Berlin), Petra Morsbach (Starnberg) and Bernhard Setzwein (Cham) interpret a number of selected Stifter texts, which are read by the actor Thomas Birnstiel (Regensburg). Peter Becher (Munich) describes circumstances and interpretations of Stifter's dying and death.
