Research database and project
The research database "Gelehrte Journale und Zeitungen der Aufklärung" GJZ 18 (Scholarly journals and newspapers of the Age of Enlightenment) represents an effective navigation tool for the review journals for the entire epoch of enlightenment.
The project has been running since the year 2011 under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen, in close cooperation with the Göttingen State and University Library, the University Library Leipzig and the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek Munich. Up to 2025, the entire journal corpus, including two precursor projects, will comprise a total of 323 journals.

Workshop
The workshop forms part of the framework programme of this year’s Historikertag conference, which was compiled by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft "Digitale Geschichtswissenschaft" (Working group “Digital historical studies”).
Workshopreihe "Digitales Praxislabor Geschichtswissenschaft" (Workshop series "Digital practice lab historical studies") #digigprx21
The focus is on the various tools and functions of the database, search options, time line and statistical evaluation options, among other things. Based on the example of inoculation, an early type of vaccination against pox, which was chosen for its current relevance, the controversial discussion on the topic can be traced in the scholarly journals.
The various functions and visualisation options can be tried out subsequently. Project team members are available for answering questions.
