About the event

How women made history – and men won fame instead

Muse, secretary, wife – there are many terms used for women whose influence has been erased from history. For whose achievements men got the awards and the kudos: Scholars, whose achievements where not recognized, in contrast to those of their male colleagues. Authors who hid behind male pseudonyms. Artists who were overshadowed by their husbands and forgotten.

The author points out in a lively and entertaining way who these women were whose achievements have driven forward our society up to the present. And she shows the importance of discussing participation and visibility.

Moderator: Meredith Haaf, Süddeutsche Zeitung

In cooperation with the Penguin publishing house.
