Digital collections
Digital collections and services related to manuscripts
All digital copies of the medieval manuscripts held by the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and of the medieval and modern-age precious book covers can be viewed in the innovative IIIF format (International Image Interoperability Framework), which is provided by the Munich Digitization Center (MDZ).
The novel features of the IIIF viewer permit arranging several image documents – also from different institutions – next to each other on the same viewer screen for comparing them. Moreover, images can be processed by means of various tools and image-related annotations: Details of a digital copy can be marked and supplied with texts, images, links and videos.
