Born in Cologne in 1933, died in Hamburg in 2020.
Training as a typesetter. 1950 emigration to the USA. Journalism studies in New York. In parallel work for the "New York Post" and the news agency Keystone. 1953 American citizenship and entry into the US army. Participation in the Korean War. Photo reporter at the STERN from 1969 to 2004.
