Harald Schmitt

Born in Hausen near Mayen/ Eifel in 1948.

Grew up in Cologne and Trier. Training as a photographer in Trier. Afterwards worked as a laboratory technician and trainee journalist at the "Trierische Landeszeitung". 1970 to 1972 sports photographer at the agency Frinke in Munich. 1972 to 1977 photographer at the agency Sven Simon in Bonn. 1977 to 2011 photo reporter at the STERN; during this time accredited journalist in the GDR from 1977 to 1983. Active as a freelance photographer since 2011.
