Biogramme
Born in Essen in 1941.
Studied mechanical engineering at the TU Berlin initially. 1964 to 1968 study of photography with Otto Steinert at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. From mid-1968 to the end of 1969 photo reporter at BILD in Hamburg. 1970 to 1992 photo reporter and 1992 to 2006 image editor at the stern. The main focus of his photographic work was on social issues (for instance metropolitan areas) and topics such as environmental protection (forest decline) and the protection of animals (animal experiments, cruelty to animals in Spain).
