The stern Photo Archive is composed of around 15 million photographs from the years 1948 to 2001 in the form of prints, negatives and slides. It includes images of:
- Persons (politicians, celebrities)
- Countries worldwide (political events, reports, etc.)
- Various subject fields (e.g. film and television, jurisdiction and crime, culture and photography, medicine, sports, disasters, traffic, economy)
Those images where the associated rights have already been clarified have been made available in a dedicated image portal since February 2023.
