The journalist Gerhard E. Habermann (1911 – 1982) took photographs of cultural events in Munich between 1955 and 1976.
In addition, he collected image materials on historical events, not least reproductions from the holdings of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.
The collection is composed of around 10,000 prints and around 100 posters. It came to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek as a donation by the family in 1997.
