The Georgian collection

The volume of the Georgian collection can be estimated only, since the books are not marked specially in the catalogue. In total, the collection comprises around 5,000 volumes of original-language Georgian literature (including the periodicals). It grows by a low three-digit number annually (2015: 150 new acquisitions), consisting almost entirely of publications from Georgia itself. In addition, the library provides a considerable, inestimable number of works of secondary literature about Georgia in other languages, in Russian in particular. The collection practically consists of printed materials only. The historical collection, for which no exact numbers can be provided, unfortunately, has been digitized almost in its entirety, and is consequently available in the open-access format using the electronic library catalogue.
