The Armenian collection

The holdings of original-language Armenian literature amount to around 10,000 titles, complemented by around 190 discontinued or still current periodicals. The collection grows by a medium three-digit number annually (2015: 490 new acquisitions). These represent not only publications from today's Armenia, but the titles are from all regions where Armenian literature was or is published. Accordingly, works are collected in the Old Armenian language, but also in the West or East Armenian language. In addition, the library provides a substantial, inestimable number of works of secondary literature in other languages, in Russian in particular, but also in western languages. By the exception of a small number of manuscripts, most materials are printed works. The substantial historical holdings have been digitized almost in their entirety and can be retrieved in the open-access format using the electronic library catalogue.
