Bayerische Staatsbibliothek contributes to national web portal for manuscripts from the Middle Ages and the modern era

The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (BSB) takes part in a project supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for developing a national web portal for book manuscripts of the Middle Ages and the modern era held by German cultural institutions.

In addition to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and the Berlin State Library – Prussian Cultural Heritage, directing the project, also the Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel and the University Library of Leipzig are taking part. The project is scheduled for a duration of three years. The German Research Foundation supports the technical set-up of the portal with the objective of creating a modern tool for international research in highly diverse disciplines.
