The new website – Modular, multimedia-based, responsive

The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek has launched its new website on 17 October 2016. The website has been set up newly in its entirety, regarding both its design and the technical platform. The contents have been written newly or revised for the most part. The new website is intended to present all aspects of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and, as a user-centred platform, to make all services available in a well-structured manner.

The modular and scalable construction of the site provides for high flexibility with respect to both design and structure. We have set great value by our services being comfortably accessible by mobile terminals of diverse types and brands (responsive design).

The presentation of the collections has received a module of its own, delivering a differentiated insight into the library's holdings to scholars in particular. However, the library is also presented more comprehensively and in particular in a more visually manifest way with respect to its cultural-historical importance. The search access for literature has been revised in its entirety. This "search tool" forms a core part of the website, providing access to the library's information contents in an easily understandable and well-structured manner.
