New milestones in bavarikon – more than 300,000 objects and around 40,000 new content items in the collection "Books on Bavaria"

Even in a time of lockdown and social distancing, bavarikon continues offering the opportunity to experience art and culture without limitation! What is more – we are working on expanding our services continuously and are particularly pleased that we can now make available around 40,000 new content items for you in the extended collection "Books on Bavaria". This means that we have now exceeded the threshold of 300,000 digital copies!

As of now, our online offer includes:

From the "Ordinance for chemists' shops in the Kingdom of Bavaria" to "The quality of drinking water in the city of Augsburg" of 1876 up to the "Manly diet of the beer brewers" – the substantially extended collection "Books on Bavaria" is a true treasure chest! It permits searching the holdings of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and of the regional State Libraries for all titles relevant with respect to Bavaria. The collection comprises over 78,000 volumes with machine-captured full-texts. The digital book collection now reaches up to the year of publication 1877.
