The services for recent acquisitions of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek have been technically and functionally modernized as of 1 July 2019. For the subject areas of historical and classical studies, music and Eastern Europe, the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek now offers three new services on topical books and other new acquisitions forming part of its collections.

Users can search directly for topics, regions, epochs, publication types or can use free search terms. In addition, one or several subscriptions can be taken out for receiving regular e-mails informing about new materials from individual areas of interest. The research and subscription functions have been combined on one common user interface. In comparison to the new acquisitions services so far, the filter settings can be more freely combined now also while searching. Comfortable use also with tablets and smart phones is ensured now by flexible adaptation to the screen resolution of the respectively used device.

The earlier new acquisitions services of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek were discontinued with the online launch of the new service. For reasons of data protection, subscriptions existing so far unfortunately cannot be transferred to the new services. Users are therefore kindly asked to take out new subscriptions.
