"Images, images, images – The photographic archives of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek" is the title of the current presentation of the Image Archive, which can be visited as of now up to 7 July 2017 in front of the Reading Room for Music, Maps and Images.

Discover portraits of well-known personalities such as King Ludwig II of Bavaria, Josephine Baker, Leonard Bernstein, Konrad Lorenz or Hildegard Knef.

Take a look at photographs of the revolution in Munich in 1919, from the time of National Socialism, of the race on the ice cover of the Eibsee and of the inauguration of the Zugspitze railway, of the destructions of Munich, the reconstruction of the city, etc.

All reproductions are from the Image Archive of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, currently preserving over 2.2 million recorded images.
