Under the header "GeoSuche", a map section will be displayed, on which places with a corresponding reference to antiquity are marked. Clicking on one of these places opens a window which contains further information on the location in question. Via the button "Neue Suche mit diesem Begriff" ("new search on the basis of this term") all data sets in PropylaeumSEARCH are displayed which contain a corresponding link.

In this way, users can search in a targeted manner for literature on individual locations in antique Campania, such as Naples, for example, or can search for research-relevant geographical works in a certain area. By selecting a map section, it is also possible to carry out a search of this region, covering up to 30 locations.

The application is based on the results of a cooperation project with the German Archaeological Institute, in which links were established systematically between the GND (common authority file) and the iDAI.gazetteer. The number of referenced locations will be increased continuously within the scope of this cooperation.
