Dr. Bettina Wagner becomes the new Director of the State Library of Bamberg

Dr. Bettina Wagner, the Head of the Division Manuscript Cataloguing Center and Incunabula Collection at the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, has been appointed Director of the State Library of Bamberg as of 1 October 2016. She is the successor of Prof. Dr. Werner Taegert, who had been in office since 2006.

Bettina Wagner, who also has close family ties to Bamberg, is looking forward to returning to Franconia: "It is a particular privilege to be able to live and work in one of Germany's most beautiful cities and to convey the outstanding collections of the Bamberg State Library to a broad public in Germany and abroad."
