bavarikon, the Internet portal on the art, culture and regional studies of Bavaria, presents its services also on Facebook as of now. The aim of the new Facebook channel is to inform about the plethora of contents and scope of bavarikon and to raise the awareness of different user groups of the multi-faceted service.

Currently, over 210,000 digitized works from around 40 Bavarian archives, libraries and museums can be viewed online in bavarikon.

The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek is not only a partner institution of bavarikon, but manages the ongoing technical, editorial and organisational operation of the culture portal. With regard to contents, the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek has also contributed a major part: In addition to selected manuscripts, printed works, personal papers and rare autographs, also various holdings of the Image Archive of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek have been entered in bavarikon.
