Bavarian Bibliography now includes over 800,000 titles

In the database of the "Bayerische Bibliographie" over 800,000 monographs, journals and articles have been registered now, all of which are related to Bavaria. The database contains electronic publications in parallel to long-term archived websites (so-called web archives) on topics about Bavaria. The Bavarian Bibliography thus constitutes the largest German regional bibliography.

The spectrum of subject matters is comprehensive, reaching from regional studies to history, law and administration, society, economy and technology, up to education and academic research, literature, art and technology. The database also contains fiction, such as literature in local dialects and detective stories related to the region.

The database offers differentiated search options for authors, keywords and subject headings, first words of titles, etc. A comfortable access point is also given via the systematic search or the system's subject register.

The Bavarian Bibliography is a cooperative project. Further participants in addition to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek are the state libraries of Ansbach, Augsburg, Bamberg, Coburg, Dillingen, Neuburg an der Donau, Passau and Regensburg, as well as the university libraries of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Regensburg and Würzburg.
