Determination of position

The current determination of the position of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek accentuates strategic guiding principles "after the digital transformation". For the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek digitization stopped being a challenge to be faced a long time ago. It has become a natural part of day-to-day life. On the basis of this new normal, the strategic guiding principles are seeking to give an at least tentative response to the question: What are the priorities, the long-term commitments and the further perspectives in light of a working environment in which the distinction between analogue and digital has largely become obsolete? The function of the strategic guiding principles is to provide orientation for the future activities of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek without dictating a specific course. They intentionally leave generous leeway for imagination, innovation and flexibility.
