The German Research Foundation (DFG) continues supporting the Specialised Information Service for Russian, East and Southeast European Studies at the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek from 2022 to 2024.
The varied and modern services of the Specialised Information Service are directed to multi-disciplinary research on Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. The core of the service is the supra-regional provision of specialist literature via the interlibrary loan system, document delivery services, or, wherever possible, directly, in electronic form. Using a form, scholars can additionally inform the library about books they wish the library to acquire. Moreover, digitization and web archiving, as well as electronic publishing are continued, and elaborate search tools and services are developed, which can be personalised in accordance with the user’s individual research focus. All services are accessible free of charge via a portal which is operated and continuously further developed by the Specialised Information Service in cooperation with a number of internationally renowned scholarly institutions.
