Acquisition, Collection Development and Cataloguing 1 (BEE1)

The Department Acquisition, Collection Development and Cataloguing 1 (BEE1) is in charge of collection building, acquisition, cataloguing and administrating the extensive holdings of monographs of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.

The selection of monographs and their content cataloguing takes place in the subdivision "Reference Librarians", in subdivisions organised partly regionally and partly according to subject fields, in accordance with an elaborate and continuously updated acquisition profile. This subdivision is also in charge of the specialised information service for the area of collection emphasis of classical studies.

The subdivision "Media Budget; Unbilled Inflow" is responsible for the controlling of the complete media budget of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and for processing the publications of Bavarian publishing houses and official publishers from overall Germany submitted in the form of legal copies.

The Division Author/ Title Cataloguing is in charge of the conceptual design and organisation of the author/ title cataloguing (monographs; non-book materials) for all departments. The subdivision Media Processing is responsible for coordinating book processing (order cataloguing, order administration, cataloguing, inventory, invoice processing) together with the associated, integrated subject-related subdivisions.
