The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek and the Quatar National Library signed a cooperation agreement in May 2022.

The Qatar National Library is one of the most modern and innovative libraries in the Arabic-speaking region. It safeguards and relays the regional cultural heritage and acts as both an academic and a public library.

The cooperation agreement envisages joint digitization projects, the exchange of digital copies and their open procurement and an exchange of knowledge and experience, for example in the field of collection conservation.
