Periodicals Reading Room Are you looking for current newspapers in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek?
In the Periodicals Reading Room of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek you can read the current issues of a variety of important newspapers every day ( title list (PDF) of the newspapers laid out in the Periodicals Reading Room). Moreover, more than 60 international and German newspapers are continuously purchased in the form of printed issues or microfilm issues. Around 250 Bavarian newspapers are in addition permanently archived as legal copies. All these titles can be searched and can usually be ordered to the General Reading Room via the  OPACplus.
 
 
 
PC-Arbeitsplätze How to find current electronic newspapers?
The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek holds individual licenses for some electronic issues of newspapers. Among them are e.g. the  Süddeutsche Zeitung or the  Frankfurter Allgemeine.
The majority of electronic newspaper titles can be retrieved via two comprehensive databases: Via  LexisNexis covering several thousand international newspapers and via  WISO, whose press module offers full-text versions of over 100 German-language newspapers.
These newspaper titles, important information regarding the conditions of access and a number of links to further frequently used newspapers are available in the  Datenbank-Infosystem (Database Information System).


digiPress Which historical newspapers are available in digital form?
Digital copies of newspapers held by the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek are made available in the newspaper portal  digiPress. Currently the platform offers access to 26 digitised Bavarian newspapers. The service is continually expanded. Starting in 2012 a full-text search facility of a selection of newspaper titles will be offered in addition.
Further free and also licensed offers of historical newspapers and newspaper collections, e.g.  The Times Digital Archive 1785-1985 or also  Austrian Newspapers Online are also accessible in one place in the  Database Information System.
