The services of the interdisciplinary regional portal Vifarom have taken shape thanks to the efforts of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, the  Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Bonn (University and Regional Library of Bonn), the  Universitätsbibliothek Mainz (University Library of Mainz) and the  Deutsch-Französische Institut Ludwigsburg (German-French Institute Ludwigsburg), with the support of the DFG.

 

The portal offers access to relevant collections in the following subject fields: Language and literature, history and politics, society, regional studies, cultural studies, the arts and music, (European) ethnology, German-French relations and information science. Furthermore, also literature on French-speaking countries, Italian-speaking countries and colonial history can be searched via the portal. Recent-acquisitions services, the collection of internet resources, extracts of the Electronic Journals Library (EZB) and the Database Information System (DBIS) are specific services of the virtual subject portal, rendering literature search even more effective.
