The division Periodicals and Electronic Media (Zeitschriften und Elektronische Medien – ZEM) is in charge of selecting, acquiring, cataloguing and indexing and providing periodicals (in printed and electronic form) and other, predominantly license-protected electronic media. Moreover the Division ZEM is the "office" of the "Bayern-Konsortium", the consortium of Bavarian academic libraries for the coordinated acquisition of electronic journals and databases.
