Current note
Water bottles permitted
As of now, readers are allowed on a trial basis to bring water in customary plastic bottles into the General Reading Room and into the Periodicals Reading Room. To make this solution permanent
  • we kindly ask you to ensure that the books are not damaged.
For this reason the bottles must not be placed on tables or shelves.
  • Please take the empty bottles with you or put them into the corresponding waste containers.
This regulation cannot be extended to further reading rooms due to the particularly valuable books provided there.
