Only about three percent of the books and periodicals of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek - but still 200,000 volumes after all - are freely accessible in the reading rooms.
All other media are stored in stacks (storerooms) and have to be ordered via the
OPACplus for consultation in one of the reading rooms or for home lending. For this purpose you need a Reader Pass, which you have to request in person at our
Registration Office.
It takes two to three working days on average until ordered media can be collected:

items for home lending can be collected at the Local Lending desk on the ground floor,
-
items for consultation in one of the Reading Rooms can be collected in the respective reading room
