With the linking service SFX the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek offers a fast and comfortable way from the literature search to the document, which can greatly facilitate your literature research.

So far you have obtained hit lists with literature quotations when querying subject-related databases. It took a second research of library catalogues to find out how to obtain the document via the Electronic Serials Library or document delivery services. SFX can now take this second step for you.

 

In many subject-related databases the hit list obtained as a result of your search will comprise SFX buttons.

 

These SFX buttons lead you to a service site.

 

From there, you can for example proceed directly to an electronic full-text copy of the desired article, to the catalogue entry in the BSB catalogue (OPACplus) or to document delivery services.

Your research data are automatically taken over.
The individual services are listed in the order of their availability.

 

The information whether the desired database offers the new function is located at the end of the detailed description of the database in the  Database Information System under "Weitere Bemerkungen" (further remarks).

SFX and External Access

Provided that the database figures in the list of SFX-enabled databases and is accessible from the outside, the SFX function is generally also available when accessing the database externally.
