Guided Library Tours
How to use the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek
 
In German:
every Tuesday from 15.00 to 17.00
every first Thursday of the month from 17.00 to 19.00 (particularly for working users)

The tour will be held in English by request (min. 5 participants)!

The introduction encompasses the following topics, explained by means of examples:
  • How to apply for a Readers Pass
  • How to use the OPACplus, the library portal of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek: searching the BSB catalogue, ordering items, as well as the option of placing an interlibrary loan order
  • How to access electronic journals and databases; external library catalogues and how to use them
  • The individual document delivery options
You are taken on a guided tour to the Local Lending on the ground floor, including the Registration Office, Book Issue and Return, the General Reading Room (a modern information centre with almost 120,000 volumes) and the Periodicals Reading Room, which makes the current issues of 18,000 current periodicals of all subject areas available for consultation.
 
Meeting place: main stairway in the entrance hall
Kindly put away your bags and overcoats in lockers before the start of the seminar. 
No registration necessary for individuals. 
Guided tours for groups can only be arranged upon prior written enquiry.
