The contents of the database are administrated by the responsible special subject field libraries, the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek (BSB) and the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preussischer Kulturbesitz (SBB-PK - Berlin State Library - Prussian Cultural Heritage).

Approximately 400 journals are evaluated, many of them retrospectively starting from the year of publication 1998 (February 2006).
