Via the "Landesfachstelle fuer das oeffentliche Bibliothekswesen" (Consulting Centre for Public Libraries) the Free State of Bavaria furthers the establishment and development of the public libraries in all parts of the Federal Land in the sense of the Bavaria-wide development programme. The government aid encompases financial support and specialised consultation offers.
The Centre is a Department of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek. It consists of an agency in Munich and branch offices in Nuremberg, Regensburg and Wuerzburg.
The information and consultation services of the Agency are provided by the individual regional offices for their respective areas of responsibility.
