lists all relevant commercial microfilms pertaining to the Collection of Microforms of the Music Department. Microfilms of individual printed works and dissertations as well as the works microfilmed within the framework of the major projects "Early English Books" and "The Eighteenth Century" are not included, though.

The holdings encompass a large collection of music manuscripts from English libraries as well as early music prints from Dutch and Belgian libraries, but also opera libretti and American music journals of the second half of the 19th century.

A major part of the funds for the purchase of the materials is provided by the  Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) within the framework of its programme of special collection fields.

The catalogue is continuously updated and also comprises the call numbers of the BSB.
The user is thus enabled to directly order the material without any further research via the menu item "Magazinbestellung" ("Stack order") in the  OPACplus.
