Subject Portal for Biological Sciences and MedicineBioMedLit is a research and order system specialising in the subjects of biological sciences and medicine, enabling users to look up information and order documents for delivery. Various databases in the field of life sciences as well as parts of the catalogue of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek can be queried simultaneously using one uniform search interface.
Subsequently to your research you are offered direct delivery of article copies at a charge. Document orders are handled by the document delivery service
subito, the article data being automatically transferred from BioMedLit to subito upon selecting the order function.

- the collections of books and periodicals of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, with the second-largest collection of periodicals in Europe. More than 40,000 current periodicals focusing on the subject areas of medicine and biological sciences render the collections particularly topical and attractive.
- the biomedical article database accommodated in the database PubMed®. PubMed® comprises over 18 million entries for biomedical articles since 1948 from the database MEDLINE® and from other biomedical journals. For MEDLINE® more than 5,200 biomedical journals are evaluated.
- the articles database of the Bibliotheksverbund Bayern (BVB - Network of Bavarian Libraries). This database represents an international and interdisciplinary bibliography of scientific journal articles. It contains over 41 million catalogue records of more than 19,700 journals, focusing on the years of publication from 1993 up to today, and is updated on a daily basis.
