With 72 extraordinary manuscripts from the collection of the Bavarian State Library, as well as three exceptional works from the Bamberg State Library, the Kunsthalle of the Hypo Cultural Foundation presents a wide overview of the earliest and most precious examples of German book illumination.

Under this title the Bavarian State Library will be organising an exhibition in June 2012 and invites you to a symposium. These in-house events will be supplemented by an accompanying book and a virtual exhibition on the internet pages of the Bavarian State Library.
