Anlässlich des zweijährigen Bestehens von recensio.net wollen wir mit der Tagung „Rezensieren – Kommentieren – Bloggen“ eine erste Bilanz ziehen, vor allem aber: in die Zukunft zu blicken. Mit unseren Referenten und Gästen werden wir der Frage nachgehen, wie Geisteswissenschaftler in der digitalen Zukunft miteinander kommunizieren werden. Die Veranstaltung selbst geht mit gutem Beispiel voran und ist bewusst diskursiv angelegt: Auf die klassische Reihung von Vorträgen wird verzichtet.

The International Conference "The Illustrated Chronicle Compilation of Tsar Ivan IV Groznyi", organized by the Abteilung für Geschichte Ost- und Südosteuropas der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Department of East and Southeast European History, LMU Munich), the Historische Abteilung des Osteuropa-Instituts Regensburg (Department of History, Institute for East European Studies Regensburg) and the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek München (Bavarian State Library Munich) will take place in Munich from 7 to 9 December 2011.

The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek organises a symposium on the occasion of the launch of "Leibniz Publik", the portal of excellence of the winners of the Leibniz Award by the German Research Foundation (DFG), on Thursday, 8 September and Friday, 9 September 2011, in the Historisches Kolleg in Munich.

The Bavarian State Library invites you to a lecture in English on Mass digitization of rare books at the Bavarian State Library: important aspects of conservation which will be held by Dr. Irmhild Schäfer, Director of the Institute of Book and Manuscript Conservation of the Bavarian State Library. The talk will be on Tuesday, 17th November 2009, at 6 pm. You can also join us in Second Life.

IFLA-preconference, Munich, 19-21 August 2009

The  International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) will hold its  75th annual conference from 23-27 August 2009 in Milan, Italy. From 19-21 August 2009, the  Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) of IFLA will organize a satellite conference at the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek Munich in cooperation with the  Consortium of European Research Libraries (CERL) and with financial support of the  Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
